Since 2016, NAV's Popcorn has been delighting visitors and locals alike with handcrafted popcorn and unforgettable flavors. Founded by Jim and Cheryl Navarra—giving NAV's its name—the shop was built on a simple idea: while Alexandria Bay had plenty of great ice cream spots, there was room for another family-friendly treat that everyone could enjoy while exploring the heart of the Thousand Islands.

 

It didn't take long for NAV's Popcorn to become a local favorite. With its creative flavor combinations, fresh ingredients, and irresistible taste, the shop quickly earned a devoted following and became a must-visit stop for anyone spending time in the Thousand Islands.

 

In 2022, Ben Whipple proudly purchased NAV's when Jim and Cheryl retired. For Ben, the opportunity was about much more than owning a business—it was about investing in a place that helped shape his childhood. Growing up, he spent countless summers camping at Cedar Point State Park and enjoying time at a family cottage on the St. Lawrence River. Those experiences created a lifelong love for the Thousand Islands, a passion he now shares with his daughter, Lily.

Today, with the support of family and friends, Ben continues the tradition that made NAV's special while adding a few touches of his own—like the photo behind the register featuring a musky he caught in local waters. His goal remains simple: to provide fresh, high-quality popcorn that brings people together and creates lasting memories.
